Artist's Statement
Mo Hamilton employs fabric, collage and printmaking to weave personal narratives to communicate an inward vision into her mixed-media paintings. Words also appear in her paintings and often a phrase or word will inspire an image to be painted. Recurring symbols and motifs appear in her work such as houses, birds, cats and still-lives with bowls of fruit and flowers. Often she is drawn to her studio by an idea or agenda that needs to express itself only to find that the process of painting takes over and intuition leads the way. Mo aspires to reveal in her paintings the internal world of her imagination
